Spring Smokey Eye (tutorial)

This light pink smokey eye has been my go-to look lately. I love the pop of color on the lid, and think that this is the perfect eye to start Spring. From having lunch with your girlfriends to going out for a sexy date night with that special someone, this look is sure to turn heads.

Step 1: Prime your lids. Using your finger apply an eyeshadow primer to your lids this ensures that all of the shadows you use will stay put and not crease throughout the day/night. The primer that I used was the Tarte Clean-Slate 360 Creaseless eyeshadow primer.

Step 2: Using a tapered blending brush take a shadow that is close to your skin color and blend this  into your crease. This shadow will act as a transition color which will help the darker shadows that you use blend evenly and easier.

Step 3: Using your finger apply a pink cream eyeshadow all over your lid. This shadow will act as a base for the eyeshadow that will be used in the next step.

Step 4: With a flat shader brush apply a satin finish pink over the cream shadow that you applied in the previous step.

Step 5: With a blending brush blend a matte light brown shadow into your crease stopping at about mid eye.

Step 6: Using a pencil brush take a matte dark brown and make a v-shape on the outer crease of your eye and blend into your crease stopping at about mid eye.

Step 7: Take a blending brush and the same matte dark brown used before and blend out any harsh lines created by the pencil brush.

Step 8: With a small shader brush take a shimmery pink, champagne shadow and place onto the inner corner of your eye to add an inner corner highlight.

Step 9: Wing out your top liner with a liquid eyeliner and line both your top and bottom water lines with black pencil liner.Add mascara to your top and bottom lashes and your look is complete!

Mariah Carey by OPI Liquid Sand Nail Polishes Spring 2013 (Limited Edition)

OPI has released an all new formulation of nail polish in their Mariah Carey nail polish line this spring. The new polishes are glitters that dry to a matte finish and are described as liquid sand. The polishes come in four different colors and retail for $9.50 a piece at Ulta, the mini set with all four polishes retails for $12.95 also at Ulta.

Get Your Number is a matte jelly based blue with round glitter. This was the sheerest of all the shades and I used 2 coats. Top picture is without a flash.

Can't Let Go is a blue- toned purple with blue and purple glitter. I used 2 coats in the pictures.

Stay The Night is described as a black based creme with pink glitter. In my opinion the base comes off more dark purple than black. 2 coats

The Impossible is a pink-red jelly based polished with silver, pink and purple glitter this one is my favorite out of the collection because it also has some star shaped glitter!

I personally really like this collection of the liquid sand glitter polishes. The colors are great and the formula of all the polishes are well made. If your looking for something cool and different to add to you collection consider checking these polishes out.
